The Company

Our client is an established international property developer with a strong track record in various Southeast Asian countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia) and also China. It possesses a very diverse portfolio of projects, and is particularly experienced in high-rise residential, office and commercial buildings. Due its expanding operations in Indonesia, a competent Contracts Manager is required.

The Position

The Architectural Manager will report to the Project Manager and lead a team comprising architectural coordinators, drafters and supervisors. Throughout the project, you will be tasked to ensure that the hired main contractor performs all required works accurately in accordance with the design brief and requirements as laid out by the company. Coordination will be carried out with the Structural and M&E teams to ensure no clashes, and the coordinators and drafters should be managed to ensure that all required drawings are produced efficiently. You will also liaise with consultants on any RFIs or design proposals from the contractor to check if they are acceptable.

The main contractor must also be managed to ensure that the works and proposed materials and method statements are at par with the specifications and relevant standards. Meetings with the contractors and consultants are also necessary to discuss any foreseeable issues and resolve technical issues.

Good value should be added by constantly improving on architectural design and coordination to speed up progress, and establishing a set of good practices to improve overall quality standards.

The Person

The Architectural Manager should possess at least a good Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or any relevant discipline. A rough guideline is a minimum 8-10 years of experience in the construction or architectural industry.

Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia/Malaysia is required to prepare and interpret contracts and liaise with the local authorities and consultants/contractors, and sufficient English proficiency will be needed to liaise with the senior management in Singapore.
